Meet the artist:
Hi, I’m Kathy, and I am thrilled to have you looking at my website, Cooked Clay.
I am originally from the UK and my family and I moved to the USA in 2000. After several moves, from CA to TN we have now settled in Nunnelly TN. This is where I now have my own Pottery Studio. It has been an interesting ride.
My wonderful husband has been building my new studio and wheel room. The wheel room is ready, glazing room is complete so off to make more unique, fun, messy ceramics…………………
We have just become members of the Hickman County Arts & Crafts Guild. An organization dedicated to individual hand-made arts and crafts; composed people with creative minds and hearts. I am so looking forward to being a part of this organization.

My learning path.
Art has always held a special place in my heart, from crafting homemade play-dough and paper mache farms, monsters etc. for my children to exploring the joy of watercolor painting. However, it was the art of pottery that truly captured my imagination. Thanks to the invaluable guidance from Mud Puddle Pottery studio, Pegram TN https://mudpuddlepottery.com and the wealth of knowledge found in online tutorials I’ve advanced my skills and since retiring have really discovered my mad, crazy, messy passion even more.
Just opened my kiln and found cracked pots.
In a potters world that means don’t talk to me
for the next 24 hours!

Depending on what I am making it can take 3-4 weeks in total to make one piece. It’s really important not to rush things in ceramics, that’s when mistakes happen. I’ve learnt this the hard way, so now I always give myself plenty of time.
My Venture forward.
I’m excited to share my pottery journey with you through this website. So, please, take a moment to explore, and feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. Let’s embark on this creative journey together!
